Amin will be presenting our paper (A. Ghadami, E. Gourgou, B. Epureanu), entitled “Rate of Recovery from Perturbations Reflects Future Stability of Natural Populations” (selected oral presentation) at the 9th International Conference on Complex Systems (ICCS) 2018, at Cambridge, MA in July.

Our paper “Rate of recovery from perturbations as a means to forecast future stability of living systems” (Amin Ghadami, Eleni Gourgou, Bogdan Epureanu) was accepted for publication in Scientific Reports! The C. elegans neuroscience topic meeting will be taking place in Madison, Wisconsin, June 25-June 28, 2018. Eleni will give a talk (selected oral presentation), entitled “C. elegans learning and decision making in T-shaped mazes“, presenting work in collaboration with Allen Hsu (abstract here). The talk will be hosted in the Behavior and Plasticity session.

Eleni and Scott Leiser are co-organizing next year’s 7th Annual Midwest C. elegans meeting, to be held on April 20, 2019. The meeting will be hosted for the first time at the University of Michigan. Hannah Seidel will be in charge of the poster session. We are very excited! Stay tuned!

On May 8th, 2018, the University of Michigan Geriatrics Center Research Symposium is taking place at the Biomedical Sciences Research Building (BSRB). Eleni is presenting a poster on C. elegans learning and decision making, featuring work in collaboration with the Hsu lab.

On April 18, Steel and Hijiri presented their posters at the 2018 UROP (Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program–UoM) Annual Spring Symposium, at the Michigan Union. Congrats, Steel and Hijiri! (Steel’s Poster here, and Hijiri’s Poster here). Eleni was a poster judge at the Symposium.

In May 29-31, 2018, Eleni will be attending the Workshop for Women in Mathematical Biology, Institute for Mathematics and its Applications (IMA), at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.
